Vision

We envision a world where workers, businesses, and communities thrive together.

Our Role

SAI’s role in this project focuses on providing assistance to employers.

Who We Are

Founded in 1997, Social Accountability International (SAI) is a global non-governmental organization advancing human rights at work. SAI’s vision is of decent work everywhere—sustained by an understanding that socially responsible workplaces benefit business while securing fundamental human rights. SAI empowers workers and managers at all levels of businesses and supply chains, using its multi-industry SA8000® Standard, as well as Social Fingerprint®TenSquared, and other training and capacity-building programs.

SAI works with organizations across a range of industries globally, of any size, and at any level of experience. We work with suppliers, retailers, brands, international organizations, and government agencies. Our corporate clients and training participants have included Clif Bar, Dole, Chiquita Banana, General Cocoa, The Walt Disney Company, NBC Universal, Kellogg’s, Amazon, and more.

How We Work

For over 20 years, SAI’s expert team has been helping companies take their human rights commitments from idea to reality. As leaders in implementation, we work directly with a company’s team to drive measurable, sustainable impact in your business or supply chain.

Human Rights at Work

Improving your company’s social performance can have real benefits for your business by meeting the requirements of today’s global market. We can help you understand and realize those benefits.

Due Diligence

We help companies foster a sense of ownership over social outcomes among staff, suppliers, and recruiters, improving due diligence at every level.

Sustainable Solutions

Our team provides tools and guidance to assist companies in developing and implementing solutions to complex problems, using a social compliance systems approach.

Labor Law Requirements

We work with companies to improve their understanding and adherence to local labor laws and international standards, helping them gain reliable reputations in the international market.
